FUTURE ACCELERATOR PROJECTS IN JAPAN

I would like to describe scientific activities of Japan which utilize the particle accelerators of various kinds. The fields include high energy physics, nuclear physics, condensed matter physics, biophysics, etc.I would also like to discuss some of the future plans of the above fields being considered in KEK (National Laboratory for High Energy Physics). Some of the examples are:
(1) B-factory
The purpose of the project is to study the origin of CP-violation and rare decays of B mesons.
(2) Large Hadron Project
This is a multipurpose project which includes the material science using the 0.6 MW spallation neutron sources and µ-on spin resonances, etc. , nuclear physics using the 50 GeV proton synchrotron and particle physics using Ë-beam and K-on beam from the same machine.
(3) Linear Collider Project
The purpose of the project is to discover Higgs particle and superparticles by constructing the TeV energy e+e- linear collider. The construction should be done by an international collaboration.
