Energy Efficiency and Buildings in the United States

Burton Richter

We spend 90% of our time in buildings, working, eating, /sleeping, and playing. These buildings use a large fraction of the energy consumed in the US and do not use it in a very efficient manner. In this presentation I will review the situation from the perspective of what we might be able to do compared to what we actually do and discuss how we can proceed to improve the situation. The analysis is based on the American Physical Society's report
