04/08/2017_JMSA New York Life Science Forum Held

JSPS Washington Office co-hosted the Japan Medical Society of America (JMSA) New York Life Science Forum at NYU Langone Medical Center on April 8. After the opening speech by JMSA President Yuzuru Anzai , MD, FACOG (NYU School of Medicine), Dr. Kohji Hirata, JSPS Washington office director gave a brief introduction to JSPS programs including the JSPS Bridge Award, a new grant which provides research visit funding for U.S. based Japanese researchers to go to Japan. The audience enjoyed lectures given by 13 invited speakers. 04/24/2016_Exhibit Held at the 2016 JMSA New York Life Science Forum Kids

JSPS Washington Office participated in the 2016 Japan Medical Society of America (JMSA) New York Life Science Forum Kids on Sunday, April 24 at the Japan American Association of New York in New York City. Several groups presented their science exhibitions at the event. We brought our one and only – “Chu-Chu da Mouse Ninja”puzzle game. All the children learned about mice cellular imagery and cellular organization by playing with the game. Other groups had exhibitions about echocardiograph machine; an eye test; semi solid waters; and even a Rubik’s Cube strategy booth. 40 children ranging in age from 5 – 8 years old participated with their parents in the forum. …

04/09/2016_JMSA New York Life Science Forum Held

JSPS Washington Office co-hosted the Japan Medical Society of America (JMSA) New York Life Science Forum at NYU Langone Medical Center on April 9. After JMSA President Yuzuru Anzai, MD, FACOG (NYU School of Medicine) opened the forum, the audience enjoyed lectures given by 13 invited speakers including Tomoaki Kato, MD, New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University Medical Center, who is reknown for his multiple-organ transplantation operations. At the reception following the forum, participants expanded their network with 23 researchers or MD’s who exhibited posters on their research.
