03/10/2017_2017 JSPS-NIH Forum [Bethesda, MD]

The JSPS Washington Office and Fogarty International Center (FIC), NIH hold the JSPS-NIH Forum on March 10, 2017 at Building 60“The Cloisters,” NIH Bethesda Campus, in Maryland. -Featuring special scientific lectures from Dr. Toshi Kawate (former NIH researcher), and Dr. Junko Murai (currently at NIH) with additional presentations from former/current JSPS-NIH Fellows (KAITOKU-NIH) , also introducing new JSPS-NIH fellows (KAITOKU-NIH), -The event encourages networking between the NIH researchers and JSPS-NIH Fellows. -RSVP by March 2, 2017 at The RSVP will be closed when we reach capacity, since the space is limited.

Exhibit held at NIH International Opportunities Expo [Bethesda, MD]

JSPS Washington Office participated in the 10th International Opportunities Expo at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on October 20 in Bethesda, Maryland. The Expo is an opportunity for embassies, multinational companies, research organizations, academia, and industry to reach out to the Postdoctoral Community at the NIH. It is also open to the fellows from surrounding universities and organization. 23 groups presented their own exhibitions at the event. JSPS WO implemented PR activity on promoting JSPS fellowship for Overseas Researchers. During the Expo Mr. Iyozumi (International Program Associate, JSPS WO) gave an informational talk introducing the overview of JSPS and explaining the details of JSPS fellowship programs for Overseas Researchers. …

3/11/2016_2016 JSPS-NIH Forum [Bethesda, MD]

The JSPS Washington Office and Fogarty International Center (FIC), NIH held the JSPS-NIH Forum on March 11, 2016 at the Lawton Chiles International House “Stone House,” NIH in Bethesda, Maryland. This forum focused on the fellows of the JSPS Research Fellowship for Japanese Biomedical and Behavioral Researchers at NIH (KAITOKU-NIH) and Japanese researchers in the Biomedical field. At the beginning of the forum, the attendees observed a moment of silence for victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011. The forum started with the welcome remarks by Dr. Yasuhiro Iye, Executive Director, JSPS Headquarters; followed by Mr. Tomohiko Arai, Science Counselor, Embassy of Japan in the U.S.; …
