JSPS held a joint Info Session with the Embassy of Japan in the U. S. at the Bloomberg Center for Physics & Astronomy on the Homewood campus, Johns Hopkins University (JHU) on Friday, January 20th, 2023. This event was co-sponsored by Science Diplomacy Committee.
The event was attended by about 30 participants including doctoral students, young and mid-career researchers. Also, 4 JSPS alumni at JHU joined a panel discussion about their research experiences in Japan.
The purpose of the event was to provide information on research opportunities in Japan, focusing on Postdoctoral / Invitational Fellowships for Research in Japan of JSPS. The Embassy of Japan shared info about MEXT Scholarships, and studying abroad in Japan.
Since the participants were interested in conducting research in Japan in the future, many of them asked questions about research and life in Japan.
