“The Science in Japan Forum” has been held annually since 1996 in Washington D.C. and consistently highlighted the strong level of cooperation between scientists and engineers between Japan and the United States.
The forum was started by Dr. Masatoshi Koshiba, who was the Director of the Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) Washington Office at the time.
It is important for both countries to foster future academic exchange and collaborative research by introducing cutting-edge Japanese research to US scientists from universities and government agencies.
