教育省（Department of Education）は8月19日、教員の多様性拡大及び、不利な境遇にある児童・生徒のニーズに応える教員養成を目的とした助成プログラムに800万ドルを拠出することを発表した。これは、歴史的黒人大学（Historically Black College and University：HBCU）、マイノリティ受入大学（Minority Serving Institution：MSI）、部族大学（Tribal College and University：TCU）における質の高い総合的教員養成プログラムを支援する「オーガスタス・F・ホーキンス・センター・オブ・エクセレンス（Augustus F. Hawkins Centers of Excellence：Hawkins）」プログラムの下での助成プログラムとなるが、本プログラムが設立された2008年以降、予算が割り当てられたのは2022年度が初となる。本助成は、エビデンスに基づく実践を教員養成プログラムに導入する大学に競争的公募を通じて付与される。
